Chunky AI ("Chunky," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by AvatarOS, Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our file collaboration and AI analysis platform at getchunky.ai (the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials (via Google or email sign-in).
Files and Content: When you upload files to Chunky, we store those files on our servers to provide the Service. This includes video, audio, image, and document files, along with any AI-generated summaries, transcripts, or metadata.
Chat and Collaboration Data: Messages sent through our AI chat and collaboration features are stored to maintain conversation history and enable collaborative workflows.
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, and timestamps.
Contact Information for Sharing: When you choose to share a file or collaboration link via email or SMS, we collect the recipient's email address or phone number solely to deliver the message you requested. We do not use recipient contact information for marketing purposes.
Cloud Storage Access: When you connect your Dropbox or Google Drive account, we request read-only access to browse and import files you select. We only access files and folders you explicitly choose to import. Your cloud storage credentials are used temporarily during the import session and are not stored permanently on our servers. We do not modify, delete, or share any files in your connected cloud storage accounts.
We use the information we collect to:
Provide, maintain, and improve the Service; process and analyze your uploaded files using AI; facilitate file sharing and collaboration between users; send transactional communications (such as share links, collaboration invitations, and account notifications); respond to your inquiries and provide customer support; monitor usage patterns to improve performance and user experience; and comply with legal obligations.
Chunky offers the ability to share file and collaboration links via SMS text message. This feature is entirely user-initiated: a Chunky user manually enters a recipient's phone number and explicitly requests that a link be sent via text.
Recipients receive a single, one-time transactional message containing the shared link. We do not send marketing messages, promotional content, or recurring texts to recipients. Message and data rates may apply depending on the recipient's carrier and plan.
Recipients may reply STOP to opt out of any future messages. We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your files and data are stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and access controls to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Files shared via collaboration links are accessible to anyone who has the link. You are responsible for sharing links only with intended recipients.
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
AI Processing: Files may be processed using third-party AI services (such as OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate summaries, transcripts, and analysis. File content sent to these services is subject to their respective privacy policies.
Email Delivery: We use Resend to deliver transactional emails on our behalf.
SMS Delivery: We use Twilio to deliver text messages on our behalf. Twilio's privacy policy is available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
Authentication: We use NextAuth.js with Google OAuth for authentication.
Cloud Storage Integrations: We use Dropbox and Google Drive APIs to enable file imports. When you connect these services, we request limited, read-only access scoped to browsing and downloading files you select. Access tokens are used only during your active session and are not stored permanently.
File Storage: Uploaded files are stored using our cloud infrastructure.
We retain your files and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your files at any time through the platform. When you delete a file, it is removed from our active systems. Account deletion requests can be made by contacting us.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; request a copy of your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
